 The Science
of Mind 100 Series
The essentials of Science of Mind are covered in the first year classes, or SOM 100 Series. These 32 classes are designed to give students a solid background in the theory and practice of metaphysical principles. SLCA offers this in a format of two 16-week courses which include the following four units of study all based on Ernest Holmes’ book The Science of Mind.

The Science of Mind 200 Series
In our second year of classes, called the Science of Mind 200 series, there are many interesting courses all designed to enable students to understand the metaphysical law at work behind every aspect of our lives.
Courses deal with health, wealth, relationships, careers and creative expression. We use texts that reflect the depth of knowledge available today including many of the foundational writers such as Thomas Troward, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Ernest Holmes, Raymond Charles Barker and many contemporary authors as well.
SLCA offers the second year series in a format of four eight-week courses that empower students to create healthy, prosperous, successful, loving and creative lives. Course offerings vary each year.
The Science of Mind 300 Series
The Science of Mind 300 course is designed for the serious student of Religious Science. This course is a far-reaching exploration of the theory and practice of metaphysical principles as applied to healing and transformation. Students of this course gain mastery in the use of affirmative prayer for themselves and for others; they become adept at the application of spiritual principles to every situation.
Later in the course, the student is prepared for a professional practice as a licensed Practitioner of Religious Science. Including practical experience and advanced training, SOM 300 is an intensive study. The successful student, upon completion of the study, will have completed the necessary requirements to apply for licensing as a Practitioner of Religious Science. Please note that completing coursework does not automatically guarantee that a license will be issued.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of the SOM 100 and 200 courses.
The Science of Mind 400 Series
Ministerial Studies. The purpose of this 2 year series is to train a student in effective leadership with an ability to relate the Principles of Science of Mind to every day living and to express these principles in a clear, practical way to persons unfamiliar with them. This course is intended only for the student who has a clear intention of beginning a Religious Science ministry upon completion of the course.
Prerequisites: successful completion of the SOM 100, 200, and 300 series and permission of the instructor.
