Our momentum continues toward growth and expansion!  Here is an update on Fundraising and the new Building.

Fundraising and Finances

It’s been a busy week for fundraising!  Susan Trammell, who is leading our Fundraising Action Group, held a training class to share the details of our Fundraising needs and start planning a phone call campaign to our Membership.  Rev. David held a book signing fundraiser Wednesday night and we raised $4,600!  This brings our total for the 11/11 party and Growth Campaign cash and pledges to $125,567!  This includes new growth pledges of $4,500 per month!  Our average operating loss in 2011 has been $6,000 per month – so these new pledges almost cover that.

The balance in our Building Fund, plus the $65,000 earnest money that we have put down for the downpayment of the new Building, totals $211,893.  Our cash balance ABOVE the Building Fund is $45,692.

Our goal between the 11/11 party and 3/1/12 is to raise a total of $300,000 in cash and pledges.  We’ve raised $125K, so now we need to raise $175,000.  Almost halfway there in 5 weeks.  Another 11 weeks to go.

Building Update – 1730 Northeast Expressway

The original 12/15 closing date is being extended because the seller had not gotten all of the documentation to our attorney with enough time for review.  With the holidays, we now expect a mid-January closing date.  Our Building Action Group, led by Tom Woodward, meets weekly to move our renovation project forward. Our architect has been meeting with staff to get input for design direction. All in all, we continue to work through the details and planning with the intention of owning and then renovating our new home!
